The V4's dedicated chemical-defence cartridge tackles gaseous pollutants that HEPA alone cannot touch. The cold catalyst layer works without heat or UV — it absorbs and chemically decomposes formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, and TVOC at room temperature, breaking them into harmless water vapour and CO₂. Behind it, high-grade granular activated carbon physically adsorbs smoke compounds, cooking aldehydes, paint off-gassing, and persistent pet odours. Together, the two stages create a comprehensive gas-phase purification barrier. Non-washable; replace when the V4's touch-panel indicator blinks or after approximately 3,000 hours of operation.
